Week 9 Results and a Reminder...

Week 9’s games are in the books. Here’s a quick wrap up of the action...

Our 7/8 White squad were winners for the second week in a row! Facing the fearsome Bainbridge Blue, our guys fought several battles, some of them even on the Lacrosse field. The one on the field resulted in a very strong 9-5 win for Central.

Although details are sketchy, it appeared that The White were not at all intimidated by their opponent’s reputation and played a very solid game. The word is that these guys play a very strong defensive game, and are earning respect throughout the League...even the ref’s have commented on their play as of late.

Nice going guys...

The 7/8 Purple took a slow boat to Winslow to face the Bainbridge Gold on their home turf. In an exciting game that saw outstanding defensive play, The Purple were able to shut down a powerful Bainbride offense time and again. Keeper Danny Strick had an outstanding day, garnering an 11-save effort. Middie Elliot Allen provided a strong surge up the middle with his second hat trick of the season. Final score was 9-8, Central...

This was an exciting game to watch, with plenty of drama...sure wish I could have seen it for myself!

Our young 3/4 Wolfpack traveled to Bothell to faceoff against Northshore West at Bothell High School. Traffic, weather and OpeningDay put a crimp in the travel plans of many, delaying many player’s arrival till shortly before the opening whistle.

It appeared that the rough start had some effect, as Central got in the hole right away, but fought back the best they could. The second half saw our guys settle down and play some of the best LAX of the season. Our offense was sharp, with well executed play. It appeared that the light went on finally, and our guys saw that if they just pass the ball, their team can be in these games. Unfortunately, it was a bit too little too late, and we ultimately came up on the short end of today’s contest.

The 5/6 Wolfpack had the late game on Bainbridge against the 5/6 Blue squad. The more powerful, experienced Blue played a really tough game, and our guys, although they ran hard, were just not able to keep up with their opponents in this one. This has been a tough year for these guys, but they should not get discouraged. Most of the teams they’ve faced this year have been filled with players that have at least several seasons of play beneath their belts. They look to be a force next year...

As a reminder to all, there will be no more practice sessions at The Swamp this season. All practices formerly held at The Swamp have been moved to
Cleveland HS field (where we play our home games) for the remainder of the season. Practice times remain unchanged...
